Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/ review/ manage tax compliance matters for the Group (both direct and indirect taxes) in accordance with relevant tax laws, regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to tax computation, transfer pricing documentation, withholding tax returns, RPGT, windfall profit levy, tax submissions, tax payment, and any other tax related compliance and operational matters.
  • Participate in tax planning for the Group; evaluate tax positions and recommend measures to enhance tax optimization and efficiencies.
  • Manage and resolve tax related issues.
  • Perform tax research and prepare ad hoc tax advice for the Group.
  • Identify, lead, implement and monitor progress of tax related initiatives for the Group.
  • Prepare tax related reports, analysis, papers, proposals and correspondences.
  • Prepare/ review provisional tax computation, deferred tax computation, effective tax rate analysis, and tax estimates.
  • Provide tax input on proposal papers and ad hoc projects and review tax related terms in agreements for tax implications and optimization.
  • Participate in leading and managing e-invoicing implementation for the Group and provide post implementation support, compliance monitoring, reporting and reconciliation (where required).
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits conducted on the Group.
  • Where required, handle and manage tax incentive applications for the Group.
  • Proactively find ways to improve operational efficiency, work processes and usefulness of reports.
  • Custodian of tax related policies and SOPs and focal point for taxation matters of the Group.
  • Liaison with tax agents/ consultants and tax authorities.
  • Keep abreast with latest tax development, provide update and assess impact on the Group.
  • Provide training/ knowledge sharing to the management and internal staff on the latest development in taxation.
  • Prepare/ manage budget, expenses and cash flow on tax related matters of the Group.
  • Provide tax input on budget, strategic plans and forecast prepared by the Group.
  • Assist Group CFO on ad hoc matters and where required, participate in ad hoc projects.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Requirement

A recognized degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields and/or professional accounting qualification or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years working experience in tax/ accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of corporations.

Sound technical knowledge with up-to-date knowledge on latest tax developments.

A strategic thinker and an executor with good teamworking, communication and relationship management skills.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Meticulous, committed, pro-active, and self-driven with high level of integrity.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
