Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, carry out daily operations in finance and treasury areas, and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines, company policies & SOPs, accounting standards as well as relevant laws and regulations

Primary Duties:

  • Perform month-end closing activities and prepare monthly accounts & notes to accounts within required timeline, ensuring monthly accounts are prepared in accordance with company policies & approved accounting standards.
  • Prepare accounts schedules, monthly financial and management reports, along with operational metrics.
  • Prepare month-end bank reconciliation for all bank accounts, and take necessary action to resolve unreconciled items.
  • Maintain fixed assets register and ensure proper recording in the books.
  • Maintain stock register, prepare stock movement and ensure proper recording in the books.
  • Review fixed assets, stocks, debtors and any other assets for impairment (if any).
  • Review supporting documents provided by other departments and check computation accuracy.
  • Prepare provisional tax computation and deferred tax computation.
  • Perform treasury function and bank-related activities.
  • Manage funds placement activities, including but not limited to liaising and making arrangements with banks/ financial institutions, and ensuring sufficiency of funds to meet daily operations,
  • Carry out daily operational activities such as issuance of invoices to customers, invoice processing, payment and collection processing, authority payments, cash book maintenance, issuance of petty cash voucher, etc.
  • Prepare monthly debtors and creditors aging reports and reconciliations, monitor/ analyse payments and collections, and take necessary actions to ensure optimal working capital management.
  • Support renewal of agreements, licences, insurance and road tax.
  • Perform variance analysis (e.g. actual vs budget) and any other financial analysis.
  • Prepare audit and tax schedules, liaise with Auditors and Tax Agent accordingly to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in budget exercise.
  • Provide assistance on cost centre matters (both OPEX and CAPEX), such as report circulation & analysis.
  • Propose / undertake initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, quality & timing of deliverables, and reporting of meaningful financials to support strategic objectives of the Group.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as and when required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirement

A recognized diploma or degree in Finance or Accountancy/ACCA/CIMA/ MIA/MACPA or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of experience in day-to-day operational Finance capacity.

Pro-active, enthusiastic and self-driven with high level of integrity.

Good organizational skills, listening skills, highly motivated, team player, flexible and result oriented.

Experience in plantation industry is an added advantage
